| Timeless She is!.. The late Donyale Luna was the true definition of a "Cover Girl". Luna, actress and model, was born in Detroit Michigan on August 31st, 1945 & died at the age of 34 on May 17th, 1979. During the mid 60's, she moved from Detroit to New york in order to pursue her modeling career and there she met Photographer David McCabe. Make note, that Donyale WAS and IS the first official black fashion Supermodel, gracing plenty of runways, magazine covers, and movies before the term even existed.
